PRESS RELEASE: Nakama London prepares for growth with three new hires

Data and Events Marketing hires ensure Nakama London’s future growth plans

Nakama Group plc (AIM: NAK), the AIM quoted international recruitment consultancy providing staff for the Web, Interactive, Digital media, IT and Business Change sectors, has appointed three new consultants to the London office across their Data and Analytics and Events Marketing teams. The new hires are a timely response to the strong growth the Group has seen both in these markets and across their London and recently launched New York offices.

Experienced recruitment consultant, Mark Stevenson, joins Nakama London from Salt Recruitment and has been appointed to the position of sales manager. The team also welcomes Samuel King, joining from the consultancy firm Datatech, as a senior consultant. Samuel will be working closely with Mark recruiting for data science and analytics roles across both the London and New York offices. Both new consultants possess a wealth of experience in building data teams both nationally and internationally.

Mark Stevenson commented: “Data is big. It is influencing and disrupting our cities, businesses; transforming the way organisations speak to their customers and to each other. We are able to draw parallels between the London and New York recruitment scenes. Clients here and abroad share the same vision for their data and analytics teams and we are able to connect them with experienced specialist candidates.”

“I totally agree with Mark”, added Samuel King. “The market is experiencing a boom; the world of data science is buzzing and it’s an exciting time to be a part of it. For candidates looking to make the move, there are some truly interesting opportunities emerging across a raft of new industries.”

Fiona Craig, also joins the London team from Stopgap, where she will be focused on growing the events marketing and digital marketing roles within the creative agency sector.

“Effective campaigns encompass a multi-channel approach, integrating the online and offline experience”, Fiona added. “I’m excited about joining the

Nakama business as it looks set to further expand from its strong digital heritage within the experiential environment”.

Paul Goodship, Managing Director Nakama London commented:

“Our vision is clearly set for growth. I am very pleased to welcome these new senior hires who will enable Nakama to scale our digital recruitment service lines both in London and New York.”

Nakama London to sponsor London’s first Vue.js Meet-up

Nakama London is very pleased to announce that we’ll be sponsoring the very first London Vue.js meet-up.

Vue.js is a library for building interactive web interfaces, powerful enough to build full-scale applications. The framework is still fairly new but the uptake by the development community has been very strong, from those with intermediate JS knowledge through to full-time JavaScript developers.

With the popularity of the library predicted to grow even more in 2016, we’re expecting it to be a required skill by employers. The evening will (re)introduce the framework, and explore topic which will show you why it’s getting a lot of attention from the developers across the board.

Talks on the night include:

Building a UI style guide with Vue.js components

– By Jack Barham @jackbarham. Product designer and developer.

Vue.js, Vuex and Redux-like State Management

– By James Browne @onejamesbrowne. Full-stack engineer.

There are limited numbers for the event and registration opens today via the meet-up link.

The event will be held at The Nakama London offices, Thursday the 3rd of March, 2016.

Nakama London Tech team are really excited about the future of Vue.js and will be actively seeking out opportunities within the market, meanwhile if you’re a looking for a contract or perm role across the following skillsets speak to David Riley at Nakama London or email: driley@nakamalondon.com.
