Sarah Clayton Sydney

Name:

Sarah Clayton

Title: Consultant – Technology

Which Nakama Global office do you work within? Sydney

What sector do you specialise in? Technology covering Contract and Freelance

What are you known for professionally? Being honest with how I work, I’m always upfront and approachable to clients and candidates.

What do you love about recruitment? The fast pace of a contract desk, the downs and then the ups! When something pulls through, when you thought it wasn’t going to, creates a real buzz.

What intrigues you most about your sector? At the moment EVERYTHING! I’m amazed by all the things the candidates are showing me in interviews, cool apps and games they have developed!

What’s the next big development in your sector? IoT –  We’re seeing a lot more roles in developing apps which are focused on Technologies that speak to each other – essentially giving users the ability to control their homes from their mobile.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve done while being in your city? Jet boating around the harbour on my first day in Sydney!

What would be impossible for you to give up? Chocolate! (of course!)

What is your social media channel of choice? Facebook

Any hidden talents/hobbies you want to let us know about? I did an art degree back in the UK and still like to have a dabble now!

Meet Nakama London’s new consultant – Toby

Welcome Toby

Name: Toby Boggans

Title: Consultant – Project Management

Sector you recruit for: Digital Project Managers (Perm)

What are you known for professionally?
I have always been a go-getter type of person. If I want something, I will do everything within reason to achieve it. I’m always setting myself personal goals to achieve, whether that financial goals or the odd luxury goal – once I’ve obtained my goal, the sense of achievement is hugely rewarding.

What do you love about recruitment?
Having been in recruitment for three years now I think the main aspect I love about it is the interaction with both clients and candidates. Being able to show my values/expertise to a client, finding candidates for their roles and on the other side placing candidates in a role they love is always nice to see.

What inspired you to get into the world of Digital Project Management?
I kind of fell into Digital Project Management recruitment, I started working in digital recruitment about three years ago and recruiting for various roles within the ad agency space; Client Services, Social Media and a few Project Management roles but never really concentrated on it solely, that was until I joined my previous company and focused on specialising in the sector and took a liking to it right away.

The people are really cool and I always got on with them on a professional level as well as a personal level too, which is always nice. I now have an established network of Project Managers from Junior to Head of PM level, growing my network everyday.

What is your social media channel of choice?
This changes from time-to-time, but at the moment it has to be Instagram.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?
Probably in The Beehive (my local pub) or in The Matthew Harding Upper stand at Chelsea cheering on the might Chels!

What would be impossible for you to give up?
Pie & Mash and Football.

Any secret/special talents?
I have a few secret talents, but if I told you all they wouldn’t be secret any more would they!

Meet our new NAKAMA consultant – Holly Johns

Holly Johns

Name: Holly Johns
Title: Creative & Design Resourcer
Sector you recruit for: Digital Creative & Design

What are you known for professionally?

I am the point of contact for existing candidate updates and availability as well as continuously resourcing and meeting new candidates – both freelance and perm. I also sieve through applications and websites to pin down the good portfolios while making sure the database is as fresh as possible! Hopefully very soon though, I will start to build up my own network of clients to hire all these great candidates, and become a fully-fledged recruiter.

What do you love about recruitment?

I love that I am talking to people all day long. It sounds obvious but I really just love to natter and the creative people we speak to are interesting and so lovely. As far as an office environment goes – our team is an extremely friendly and social bunch, so it’s just a really pleasant place to be everyday. In terms of my sector of recruitment, I love it because of my previous design experience but I absolutely love speaking to these brilliant minds about their work and influences.

What inspired you to get into the world of design & creative?

I have always been really creative myself – since I was little! I moved onto digital at College and University and became obsessed with video editing, type animation and digital illustration, which lead me to be a graphic designer on the side for a couple of years. Recruiting for design and creative was a perfect mix of my passion for design and also for people!

What is your social media channel of choice?

Twitter! I talk too much about everything and anything, so Twitter is my way of sharing and interacting on topics I’m passionate about so I can actually take a breath in real life! Follow me via @HollyLJohns

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

Glued to my game console… I’m a bit of a nerd.

What would be impossible for you to give up?

Crumpets – They’re just heaven sent! I can’t function well if I haven’t had crumpets first thing.

Any secret/special talents?

I can cook wonderful canapés including petit fours (particularly marzipan fruits) & vol-au-vents. I was a gymnast for eight years, so I love fitness! This helps me to counteract my gaming addiction.
